Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come and leave school very happy and look forward to the next day. Many of my students complain at the end of the day that they do not want to go home. They want to stay at school longer. My students are all English Language Learners, who are in a Structured English Instructed class. The English language is very difficult for them and they need extra support through the use of visuals and hands on materials. My students also need various extensions to help support their education.

Our school and staff pride ourselves on our "Disneyland Theme" and "We Won't Stop Believing" in our students.

In my classroom, we move a lot between the carpet and table time to keep students engaged in learning. I strive daily to have my students be able to be at grade level at the end of the year. I am challenging my students to use different approaches to learning especially using 21st-century skills.

My Project

My students are using baskets at their tables. These baskets are currently overflowing with trying to keep up with new ways to help students learn sight words, writing sentences, personal calendar, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Binder and their folders for the students to collect their work assessments. The baskets are overflowing and the students have a tendency to knock them over and everything spills out.

My students will be able to use their seat pockets to keep all their materials organized.

It will also help keep the classroom environment calm, orderly and more peaceful for my students. I am excited to have an opportunity to get these materials for my students.
