My Project
The fourth- and fifth-grade students I work with are some of the kindest, most willing, and most compassionate students I have encountered in my 20+ years of teaching on three continents. These students have remarkable bravery, vulnerability, and tolerance for students with additional needs, backgrounds, and abilities. They are creative, hardworking problem solvers. I will use the materials in this request to help teach personal organization and to broaden perspectives about youth involvement.
I hope to help these fantastic upper elementary students find personal and group agency to take their inherent compassion and work ethic and put them to use, making more good in the world!
I could help show the students that young people can be organized and effective. We will use the wooden cubbies to keep organized while transitioning among classes. I want to facilitate their growth to take responsibility in their world, especially in ways that think globally and act locally. We will use the books on the list to learn about different experiences. I hope the materials in the project will enable these fantastic young people to reach new heights in their awesomeness! I appreciate your consideration.
