My Students

Carpe diem! These are the words that greet my students daily as they enter our classroom. I aim to create an environment filled with creativity, educational challenges, happiness, and self-awareness. Every day, my students rise to the challenge and truly seize the day!

My students attend a Title I public school in New York City where nearly all students come from low-income households.

My students are a diverse group of intellectually gifted fourth graders. Their interests are unique and varied, yet they share the trait of innate inquisitiveness. Our classroom is a place of discovery and inquiry. We strive to tap into our higher-order thinking skills on a daily basis, pushing ourselves to explore and think deeply.

My Project

This will be a school year unlike any other. My students will be participating in remote learning, and I need some materials to ensure that my lessons are dynamic and engaging for my wonderful students.

The requested materials will go a long way in ensuring a successful September and beyond.

I will be teaching lessons synchronously and need various tools. While I make great use of technology, I also need to have whiteboards so that I can explain things to my students in real time. Hence, the whiteboards, erasers, and markers will allow me to be able to teach my students important concepts when we are learning remotely. The plan book will keep our learning organized, and I will utilize the postcards as a means to keep my students inspired. My students love getting mail from me! They really get so excited and motivated when I send them notes in the mail. Finally, the cleaning supplies will allow us to contain our germs and remain healthy and safe when we return to the classroom. All these materials will prove to be such helpful tools in our learning adventure this year.
