it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us communicate with others! Technology helps level the educational playing field! My students are equipped with the willingness to learn, they just need to be equipped with technology. Your donation will help us Skype with kids all over the globe.
My students face many social and educational challenges.
My biggest concern as their teacher is their educational challenge. The delivery of my instruction is very limited to the resources at hand. Our lessons can be brought to life and become more engaging if technology was present.
I have a motivated and eager group of first graders. Many of the students in my classroom are below grade level in all academic areas. Every day progress is made. The students live in a high poverty area. None of the students in my class have parents who attended or finished college and the majority of their parents have not finished high school. All the students in the school receive free lunch.
My Project
A laptop in our classroom means that students will have a chance to receive instruction, explore the internet, communicate with others students around the world through Skype, as well as take assessments through the internet. This laptop will enable my students to use Skype to connect with peers around the globe. Through the SKYPE exposure students will be exposed to other learning environments, my students will learn about other cultures, languages, and opinions. Skype in the classroom will also allow them to better understand their own culture, language, and thoughts.
I think every child in the world deserves a quality education. Technology enhances students learning and prepares them to become informed citizens.
The ability to learn and visit various cultures through Skype will allow the students to become culturally informed.
Students will learn how to respect and value various cultures. Help our students defeat cultural shock. Help them have vision to become future leaders who will not only help our country but our planet.
