My Project

These supplies will replenish and restructure our K-1 art stations to give our scholars time to work on skills they need to be successful in their learning and beyond. Young Scholars need to build fine motor and hand-eye coordination. With these supplies, we will be able to build small muscles in our hands and fingers and increase dexterity. Knot-tying also helps with reading, writing, and spelling as they work through the rope by reading the written and visual instructions.

The activity of tying and untying knots can be used to facilitate fine motor coordination, directly engaging and enhancing fine motor movements.

It requires the intricate use of hand and finger muscles, mirroring the precision and control needed for fine motor skills and hand dexterity such as pencil grip, an essential skill in handwriting and other fine motor activities. Accuracy in both tying knots and untying knots means that these muscles are continually being worked and strengthened, leading to improved dexterity.
