Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Oscar de la Hoya Animo Charter High School is a public school open to students in the East Los Angeles/Boyle Heights area. It is a small school with 140 students in each grade level. The Yearbook committee is composed of two teacher supervisors and 30 students. There are two chief editors, two co-editors at each grade level, and under each editor's supervision are 20 staff members. Currently, the yearbook staff has access to only one digital camera to be shared among all thirty students. This makes documenting activities on campus extremely difficult and time-consuming. We would like to acquire 5 digital cameras for our Yearbook staff in order to better capture all the school-related activities both on and off campus, such as basketball and soccer games, dances, and field trips. The editors and staff members would use the cameras on a weekly basis and be responsible for the care taking of the equipment, as well as scheduling and setting deadlines for picture-taking and writing captions, and finally, their primary responsibility would be to produce a yearbook of good quality in a timely fashion.
