Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I serve as an attendance counselor in South Los Angeles. We have a student population of 600 underserved families. Every year we try to host a school-wide event to celebrate student attendance and academic achievement. Our school was just awarded California Distinguished School but that does not come with funding to celebrate with students.

Our students are obsessed with dinosaurs so we are working to create a Jurassic World experience for the students and would like to give each one a toy to remember the event and celebrate their daily attendance and academic performance.
