Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Last school year ('23-24), marked our school's first year in a school building! Previously, we were housed in a high-rise office building that just didn't have enough space for our learners. As a school that works to provide quality, public, and free education to girls of color, we were so excited to move into our new space.
With this new space comes new needs and challenges to make each student feel at home.
This project will specifically help to provide access to a color printer in order to better decorate and print materials needed for lessons, and storage/organizational furniture that will help students to find the things they need.
My classroom has consistently been the room that students know they can come to to get a snack, a mask, or sanitary products. Having these storage spaces in my room will allow students to contitnue to have access to these items, allowing them to better focus during their day - whatever class they may have!
