This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My goal is to make reading fun. I want to encourage rather than discourage my students already struggling in reading. My students are amazing, hard workers and the sweetest group of kids. They get so excited when they notice their own growth. I want to provide materials that give them confidence in their reading skills. I want them to be excited when I am present them with a book!
After some research I came across these decodables and what I liked about them was the scope and sequence of the material along with the inclusivity and wide variety of stories.
These decodables will allow me to provide further differentiation within my caseload. They can be used as the main source of material for students working on decoding, or be used for more independent reading with students who have made growth in decoding. By having new, colorful and up to date materials I hope that I can excite them to read.
