My Students

We are a neighborhood school serving the community since l927. In addition to general education students, our students represent 23 language groups, many of them English language learners, and students with special needs. Our mission is to develop joyful learners by providing them with support, encouragement, and opportunities for challenge.

Our students are enthusiastic learners who thrive on creativity and being challenged!

They are motivated by high-interest level curriculum and hands-on learning opportunities. They also love being able to explore, create new things, and are highly motivated by student centered learning. We are always looking for ways to provide them with tools that will help them maximize their potential.

My Project

In December 2016, we received an invitation from Bryan Twarek, Computer Science Program Administrator for SFUSD, to participate in a "Computer Science for All" pilot program. The invitation stated:

"In June 2015, SFUSD's Board of Education made a bold commitment to provide high-quality computer science (CS) education to all students every year, beginning in the pre-kindergarten.

We are now ready to begin expansion into the younger grades, and we invite your school to be part of this spring’s pilot program."

And we enthusiastically said, "Yes!" With the help of the Chromebooks and the in-service provided through this pilot project, we hope to make computer science learning fun, relevant, project-based, and accessible to all students, in order to build a strong foundation in CS knowledge as well as a high-interest in CS learning. We want to develop high level thinkers, problem solvers, collaborators and communicators by providing our 2nd - 5th grade students regular access to a computer science curriculum using technology that is updated and reliable.
