Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach an amazing group of first graders at a public Montessori school where students learn through exploration, independence, and hands-on experiences. They come to school full of curiosity, joy, and a love of learning. The science and writing journals will support literacy growth and scientific thinking by giving students a space to document their observations and ideas. The animal x-rays will help bring our life science unit to life, offering a concrete way to explore the differences between vertebrates and invertebrates. The tornado-in-a-bottle kits and glue will allow us to conduct engaging, hands-on experiments that connect to our NGSS-aligned weather unit and support sensory learning. These materials will not only strengthen science and writing skills but also nurture independence, creativity, and confidence in my young learners.
