My Students

Sometimes doing things the same way day in and day out can be quite boring. In today's world there are so many distractions that tend to sway children away from wanting to learn so as educators we must provide meaningful but fun and interesting alternatives that motivate students.

My students are bright, energetic and caring people who love to have fun and love to learn.

We are a school of learners. We are located in a rural, historic community. Over half of our students receive free or reduced lunch. We are comprised of many single parent families as well as two parent families. Our racial makeup include African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic and Asian students.

My Project

The write and wipe boards that I am requesting will provide an alternative resource for students to use to help them communicate their thoughts in writing. It provides a place for them to illustrate and "tell" their stories to share with others. Because writing is such an integral part of reading , it is imperative to provide materials that help to motivate students as writers.

I hope that you will help to support this project so that we may inspire young writers to become published writers someday.

Writing provides us all with an avenue to share our thoughts and ideas with others.
