This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.

In my bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects, including reading, writing, math, and science.

My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.

My Project

Every first grader needs to have several opportunities to learn how to write. In first grade, students need to include art in their writing to motivate them to write.

They will use the paint to create writing products that will represent their thoughts and effort in writing.

I know that with the use of paint my students will be able to learn how to write through different learning styles. The art supplies that I'm requesting will provide my students with the supplies necessary to develop wonderful writing products. The colorful paint and the supplies will greatly motivate every single student to want to express their thoughts in their writing. I'm sure that my students will be eager to start to write and at the same time use the paint.
