This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students struggle with basic writing skills. They are 4th and 5th graders, but many struggle even writing a basic sentence. Students are expected to create multi paragraph essays by the end of the year on various topics. Since we start back at the basics every year, this is a huge challenge for many of my students.
I believe that in having these extra writing activities, students will be able to work at their pace organizing ideas and working more cooperatively in small groups and with partners in order to strengthen their writing skills.
