My Students
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.” Ignacio Estrada
I teach a Special Needs Pre-K class of wonderful and excited students.
As a Title I school, many of our students and families are faced with multiple challenges from housing to daily healthy nutriments. Our families work hard to give their students the greatest opportunity to succeed during the normal school year and now through the current Virtual learning mode.
One hundred percent of our student are receiving free breakfast and lunch each day. There is a continuum of poverty and challenges in the school’s community. Our students are determined and motivated each day to do the very best they can with their many physical and developmental challenges.
My Project
We work with pictures and other visual manipulatives to present lessons to our students. Due to some hearing challenges and physical challenges, it is important for our students to be able to mimic some of the writing assignments with the requested practice books, boards, markers, and erasers.
Our goal for the New Year is to place emphasis on formulating letters of the alphabet which in turn will enhance the student’s ability to write their name.
In addition, the student will be working on writing their numbers associated with counted manipulatives. Our students show so much excitement when they are able to achieve the smallest task.
