COVID-19 has impacted everyone. Never did I imagine that when my students and I said goodbye in March (Spring Break) that it would would be our last day in the classroom. However, we're not finished yet!
My students and I have embarked on the distance learning journey!
We are actively engaging in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate three times a week in Zoom meetings to go over new material, and to check in with each other. In addition, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. I am amazed by their level of engagement and participation, and families' willingness to try new things.
My Project
This is a great time for my students to be able to write and edit what they read about! Although my students are unable to be in the classroom, they are still willing to express their creative writing skills.
These students, with the writing resources they receive from this project, will utilize online lessons, travel with the maps and learn about different characters through texts.
Students will be able to share their finished products with their peers to edit and enhance their writing skills at the same time while preparing for 6th grade in the future.
