My Students
Some of our favorite authors are those who spark our imagination. Help my students become just this type of creative, inspired authors.
I am a Third and Fourth Grade teacher at a year round charter school in an urban environment.
My twenty eight Third and Fourth grade students are excited, energetic, and eager to learn, despite the challenges in their daily lives! My students are in school from 8:00 am. to 5:00 pm.. The majority (90%) come from low income homes. As a school, we work diligently to provide the students with a wide variety of experiences that they would not usually encounter.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of papers, journals, and organizers for out writing center, as well as prompt cards and story starters for my students. My students already love using the writing center, but their imaginations will be sparked by the expository, persuasive, narrative, and creative writing prompt cards and the new variety of materials. Help them to increase their vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills through letter writing, stories, and a wide variety of writing types.
This project will allow my students to see themselves as writers, develop their skills, and create- all while learning!
With these materials, we can discover the next Dr. Seuss and become a classroom of authors.
