My Students

I am a proud teacher of diverse learners in NYC's ASD NEST program. My students are special in so many ways---where do I begin?

My students light up when they are learning about a topic that they really connect with and even more so when a project impacts their lives.

Located in the diverse neighborhood of the East Village in NYC, my classroom is a true melting pot of cultures and abilities. Some of my students are advanced thinkers and self starters while others are learning to engage with schoolwork as well as their peers. Each student finds great joy and pride in learning new topics, but their methods and strategies can vary greatly.

As their teacher, my goal is to provide a learning environment where my students are engaged with inspiring projects and vibrant discussion.

My Project

This year has been a challenge for both students and teachers. We are rewriting the playbook for instruction. What we have noticed is that providing quality writing instruction remotely is difficult without language foundations and a place for students to practice.

Students need writing practice and a set structure to work within.

This workbook will provide just that...clear and explicit writing lessons and activities to engage writers and promote quality work.

I will use this workbook as daily skills exercise for my first graders as well as to enrich writing units that are already underway in our writing workshop.
