This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students in 5th grade are developing their writing skills by writing frequently on various topics over the course of the school year. My goal this year is to help my students create a portfolio of their best writing that they can take with them to the next grade level. Throughout the course of the year, students will engage in journal writing, narrative writing, opinion and argumentative writing. At the end of the year, students will have the opportunity to select their best pieces of writing to showcase to their family, friends and teachers. The materials will allow me to help my students organize and put together their work in an individual portfolio ( pocket folders and sheet protectors) to preserve their work.
