This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are resilient and wonderful! They are kindergartners and they are so happy to join and share during our virtual meetings. For most, it is their first experience with school and I would love for them to have the best experience they possibly can with online learning.

My Project

We have been on distance learning for the entire school year thus far. I have given almost all of my basic supplies to my students in order to be successful in distance learning.

Replenishing these basic supplies like pencils, journals, glue, and dry erase markers will help them continue to be prepared and successful for the remainder of the year.

Writing journals will be used for writing phonetic sentences and using sight words and responding to literature. Math journals will be used for math so they can answer simple word problems and show their work using pictures and writing equations.

Whiteboard markers dry out quickly, but it has been such an incredible tool to use for checking for understanding in this virtual learning setting.

I can't wait to close this school year on a positive note, knowing my students have the tools they need to succeed!!
