This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a great group of third graders who enjoy learning. Most of them are Language Learners who come from low economic backgrounds.
Every year I spend lots of money buying my students about 2-3 wirebound notebooks, and extra pens and pencils. I do this because we have a limit of pens and pencils per month and because these notebooks are not purchased at all for us. Unfortunately, I am unable to purchase these materials this year.
When my students use these notebooks, their work space is neater, they always know where to find their notes, and their classwork papers are not all over the place. I find that these notebooks are excellent for Vocabulary, Math, and Writing because they are lined and are 8 1/2 x 11. I also believe that children should have materials readily available to them. It's incredible how many pencils they go through a day. If one pencil point breaks, they can always get a new one.
With your help, my students will be able to have the basic things they need for writing such as notebooks, pencils, and pens. I believe that classrooms should have the essential materials to run smoothly. My students and I thank you in advance.
