My Students

My students are trying to learn new things with technology nearly everyday. They are six and seven, but they didn't get the chance to have a full year of school under their belt. Now, they need to jump right into learning to get caught up on what they missed in the spring. They come from all around the world and have a variety of lifestyles and learning needs. With a high poverty level, many of my students face multiple challenges both in and out of the classroom. First graders need a safe, comfortable learning environment to do their best work.

They are constantly striving to do their best and are learning to appreciate and value individual needs of each person that walks through our door.

With what the world is going through now, school will look very different. The kids are worried, stressed and unsure what school will be like. We want to make them feel as safe as possible. It is going to be important for these kids to know that they are loved and we are here for them near or far. We have their best interests in mind.

My Project

After three months of remote learning, my students are running out of paper and their dry erase pens are running out of ink. Even in the classroom, these are things that we go through. With not being there to help remind them all the time to keep lids on and use every page, my students are going through the supplies I gave them at the beginning of the year.

Giving these supplies to the students will help them all be able to participate and be successful in their learning.

I feel bad when students say I don't have any more paper or my pen doesn't work any more. I want to be able to give them these supplies. If we were in school, I would be supplying these things so I want to make sure all students have what they need to be successful!
