This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching writing has been one of the most challenging things about teaching Kindergarten. Not only do students come in with a variety of skills they also need support in so many different ways. I have to navigate our way through the development of pre-writing and early writing skills and make sure I nurture that growth for all students.

By making a writing center stocked with paper, pocket charts, writing instruments, and other fun supplies my students will be able to draw and write to composing pieces.

My students will practice writing all of the letters of the alphabet, correctly writing first and last names, print correct letter symbols to correspond with pictures and write and correctly spell some simple consonant-vowel-consonant words.
