My Students
I love my students! As a teacher in a low-income area, students face so many challenges day in and day out. Reading and Writing are definitely high on the challenge list.
I believe that if students are put into a comfortable and nurturing environment, it may help learning become just a tad bit easier and exciting!

My Project
My students will now have the chance to relax their minds, and write in comfort in their new classroom! This is a way to get their brains turning as they write new, and creative narratives, fiction, poetry, and many other genres of writing. One of the major struggles that I notice day in and day out, is students inability to sit at a desk all day, work super hard, and do their very best. As an adult this is a struggle for me, and I would love to be able to switch things up!
The bean bag chairs will be used as an alternative place to write essays, stories, and poetry.
Students will have the chance to earn this incentive in order to get in "the zone" as some of them say to me! The lamps will be used to change the setting and help their minds travel to a "different" place. Many of my students suffer from different learning struggles, and a few of them are sensitive to the light after a while. I want to give my students a chance to create their most brilliant writing in the most comfortable place possible.
I have also asked for pens, pencils, and notebooks to keep them with the proper materials throughout the year. Writer's Workshop requires a lot of materials with writing outlines, and multiple drafts. Materials can go very quickly.
I would love to give every student the same opportunity to be successful in writing. Students will have the chance to go from a normal desk situation, to experience a more at home feel in the writing center.We hope you can help! No donation is too small!
