My Students
"History will be kind to me for I intend to write it," so said Winston Churchill. My students are the future and they are making history each day as they are learning to be good citizens.
The future lies in the hands of the children in my class.
I teach a special education class with kids that have varying needs. I work in a high needs school where children have limited supplies and it is very difficult to obtain the materials that are required to help them grow. Your kind and generous donations would help the children in my class excel and build their learning capabilities.
My Project
Writing is a skill that is very challenging for the students in my class, but is essential in the learning process. The class struggles day in and day out to grasp writing ideas. Teaching students to write requires showing them how to develop and organize what they want to say and guiding them in the process of getting it down on paper. The four writing centers I am requesting (Sentence Building Games Library, Be a Poet! Writing Center, Classroom Writing Center, and Reading & Writing Learning Center) will help the students develop their writing skills. Writing can be a frustrating task that can take extended periods of time to complete. With additional resources writing can be made easier and less of a complex activity. We would also like a Human Body Interactive Fact FInder manipulative to help the students learn science in a fun way.
