Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In the coming school year, my students will be learning from home part of the time, if not all of the time. This has been challenging with the smallest learners, but they have shown resilience, perseverance, and determination! I want to prepare them as best I can for a successful educational experience.
My Project
I would love to provide my students with writing journals, triangular pencils, and crayons for distance learning. Oftentimes, my students are using whatever paper and writing utensils are available to them at home and they are not always appropriate for the earliest stages of writing.
Having the right materials for writing is an essential piece of the writing process!
These journals will give them lines to follow and a place to draw a picture. The triangular pencils lend themselves to proper pencil grip and better fine motor development. And the jumbo crayons are harder to break and ensure that every student has a complete set of crayons to work with for a variety of activities.
