My Students
I am a primary resource teacher who provides special education services and support to students with special needs who are included in the general education classroom. My students have a wide range of abilities and needs. My students all come eager to learn. For my kindergarten students this is their first experience in school, and it is exciting for them! For my 1st-3rd graders I am building and expanding their foundations to ensure a lifelong love of learning.
My students are full of life, excitement, curiosity and are excited to learn.
For most, I am their first encounter with education, and I want to foster a lifelong love for learning as this is an exciting time for them.
I am thrilled that my students are able to be placed in the least restrictive environment and are being education right alongside their general education peers. While my students do require accommodations and modifications for the classroom, they are thriving!

My Project
My students have special needs and attend a general education classroom. In order to access the general curriculum and be successful in writing, they require hands on materials and manipulatives. The hands-on manipulatives and fine motor games will help young learners to stay actively involved and interested in learning.
Hands on materials help to make learning concreate and create successful readers in all classrooms!
Not only will my students with special needs benefit from these manipulatives, typically developing students also benefit from the use of hands on writing materials. Having the equipment necessary to create an exciting and fun learning environment is the first step in creating a successful, inclusive environment for all students.
