I teach first grade students in a rural area that doesn't receive funding like the schools that are located closer to town. My students come from low-income families who struggle to provide for the basic daily needs of their children.
I teach young learners who are like sponges ready for knowledge!
This age group is learning so much so fast that it's a job in itself just to keep up.
My Project
In my classroom, there are no desk for students to sit at. They are allowed to sit at a variety of place around the room. I just ask that they make a good choice. Without table, students don't have a hard surface to place their paper when completing an assignment.
These clipboards will allow each child to be able to walk around the room or sit at their spot and have a hard surface to place their paper.
Young students really like to care around a clipboard because it's what they see adults doing. This encourages them to work a little harder.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
