My Students

Our school believes in No Child Left Behind and that every child has the ability to succeed. They all bring individual talents, capabilities, and personalities into our family within the classroom. We all care about each other and take care of each other. They all strive for excellence!

I teach 14 wonderful and enthusiastic children.

In this class, we build a community around what we have in common and our shared experiences. We are incorporating Social Emotional Learning throughout our school to promote growth socially, academically, and personally. Our students are in need of many materialistic items, but most importantly affirmation and positive feedback.

My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds, and ethnicities. Our school has one of the largest concentrations of English as second language (ESOL) students in the district. As my students make gains in my classroom, they begin to become more involved socially with their peers. My classroom is about building skills for success. The work we do in this classroom involves building relationships, staying with the group, following directions, and accessing general education content in different ways. We celebrate little wins together each day.

My Project

This year has been completely different in many ways. My students have experienced e-learning, part-time in the classroom, and now full-time in the classroom with many guidelines. They are not allowed to share or partner work this year in the classroom or in centers. These STEAM activities will allow students to have their own activity to promote learning, creativity, direction following, problem-solving, kinesthetic experiences, and various ways to write their spelling words with fun and excitement.

Without being able to partner and collaborate in centers our students are missing that personal interaction with each other.

These items allow them the ability to express themselves individually.

Thank you for providing a sense of normalcy by giving them a STEAM activity to do while at school learning and growing.
