This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This is a bright and active group of five and six-year-old children. They love to create and tell stories. They love to read and be read to. They are quickly learning to work together, which is a vital skill in our world. My children work in small groups and independently throughout the day. This helps them learn to focus and improve self control issues.
We grow in all areas by practicing and playing together.
Writing throughout the day in science, social studies, math, and even in art helps us in so many ways. We get noisy, but we learn so much together. We need supplies to grow as readers, writers, and illustrators. We need to show the colors of our ideas. We need ways to be active and help us learn to control our ADHD tendencies. There is so much to learn.
My Project
Kindergarten is one place to begin to build your own personal identity. With these materials, the markers of varying widths and even smelly ones, we will write and illustrate amazing stories of our world.
In Kindergarten, we are beginning to tell reality from fiction.
With these markers and card stock, we will get the chance to write our own non-fiction stories for the first time. We will make them bright and colorful on terrific card stock colors. Our new markers will help us make the stories something everyone will want to read.
The headphones are needed because kindergarteners really are rough on materials. We can not hear our iPads and all that they have to teach us.
