it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am the fortunate teacher of a bilingual kindergarten class and want to offer my students a writing center with all the tools that they will need to succeed.
Students deserve the best tools possible to set them up for success when they write.
Most of my students are learning how to write and it is crucial for them to have access to the tools they will need. By providing my students with a writing center, my students will have access to daily writing paper (appropriate for their level), different colored folders that will differentiate their writing in English and Spanish. The students will use the pencils, erasers and dry erase markers to practice their letter and word formations. The magnetic letters and the magnetic pocket charts will help students have a tactile and visual representation of the words they are forming as they tie that into their writing. Finally the writing booklets will be used to complete special writing projects. With the utility of this writing center, my students will grow in both their English and Spanish writing and their creativity will come to life.
