My Students
In the short time, we've gotten to know each other, my class has quickly become a community always looking out for one another and cheering each other on.
I have the privilege of teaching and enriching 32 of the most hardworking, passionate and sharp second graders.
They are filled with energy and a desire for learning every moment they are in school. Many of my students have come from different countries. 19 of my 32 students are also learning English as a new language. Overall, I have a very diverse group of students with different abilities, all sharing the same enthusiasm for learning.
My Project
My students love writing whether it be formal essays, letters, journal entries or stories. They are so involved in each part of the writing process, whether it be brainstorming ideas or editing their work.
Without an area to properly store our writing and utilize the proper tools and supplies, we lack organization and accessibility during Writers Workshop.
The purpose of these materials is to create a center that is approachable and structured for students to self-regulate. We are involved in Writers Workshop daily and would greatly benefit from a station that can facilitate our work.
As British writer C.S. Lewis once said, "You can make anything by writing". Help me encourage my students' love for writing.
