This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a first-grade teacher of English Language Learners. My students come from different cultural and educational backgrounds. They all bring into the classroom their rich, cultural experiences.

In my bilingual class, I have to teach and ensure that all my students learn all subjects, including reading, writing, math and science.

My students are at-risk and come from high poverty. Therefore, due to their limitations, my students are in need of additional resources in order to be able to learn and succeed.

My Project

Every day my first grade students do activities in their writing center. In the writing center, my students do writing and crafts. In the writing center my students have to use a lot of paper, pencils and other writing supplies.

My students are in constant need writing of supplies in order to improve their writing skills.

Unfortunately, when my students run out of supplies they lose their creativity. Therefore, I am asking for your help in order to obtain much needed writing supplies. The writing supplies that I am asking for is a stapler that they can use to staple their final product. My students also need color paper in order to write and to create crafts for their writing piece. They also need well sharpened pencils in order to produce legible handwriting. Therefore, my students need a pencil sharpener. They also need clipboards in order to continue writing while moving around the classroom. In addition to the supplies mentioned above, my students also need the Expo erasers to use them on the small white boards.

I do hope that you could give us these much needed writing supplies for my first graders.
