This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How can we expect students to become great writers if we do not expose them to other great writers? We need to nurture this ability!

I have 22 kindergarten students who are excited to attend school everyday.

For some of them, this is the first time they are in school. They are an amazing group of students who come ready to learn new things everyday. Our school is doing the best we can to purchase all the resources we need, but the budget makes it difficult. Our students deserve the best. They deserve a classroom full of quality books and examples of great writing.

My Project

The books I am requesting will not only provide material for story time, they will also be used as part of a new writing curriculum our school is trying. Students will have heard these stories multiple times. They are then going to use them as models to guide their writing and thinking about literacy. It helps connect a difficult task, writing, with something they enjoy, stories.

All students deserve an excellent education.

Currently, writing is something that many people, including professionals, struggle with. Your donation now will help these kindergrtners start their writing career on a track that will set them up for success, both in the classroom and their future endeavors.
