This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Writers can rule the world with the stroke of a pen, but need the resources to accomplish it. Help my students become the writers they can be.

My students are a group of hard-working second graders who love to learn.

We are one of five second-grade classrooms in a Title I school with just under 500 students. It has often been said that our school is hidden and as such it can be difficult to locate. For this reason among others, we do not receive additional support to fund classroom needs unless the teachers seek the funds or materials.

My Project

I am requesting five different, yet specific items to support my current and future students as they become better writers. The Writing Center will give me a place to organize all of the materials they will need. For them, they can go to one place to pick up paper, pencils, erasers, and other writing resources. The red baseline paper will be available in the writing center as the students become ready to publish their writing. Special paper can set the mood for great writing. The Write and Wipe Pockets, Working with Words Library, and the Practice Boards will help them as they develop their spelling skills and vocabulary knowledge. Each of these resources will provide the students with needed practice and development without having to use paper and pencil each time.

Your support will give my current and future students the resources they need to improve their writing skills and become great writers.
