Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 3 and 4 year-olds from an inner city. They are very curious about the world around them, and I want to provide them with ample opportunities to learn and achieve their goals. The urban area that they are from provides many cultural experiences for the students. We want to provide a safe place for the students to come together and learn from each other about what makes each of them special; that is why we are a National School of Character. We are exploring the opportunity to become an Eco-School USA and the students enjoy learning new ways to help the environment and save the planet.
My Project
Learning virtually is tough work. Especially for our youngest learners. We need materials to engage and support their learning to make the best of our situation. We need more options to show the students the right way to write. Using more props to engage the students in learning their letters and the sounds with alphabet tubs and picture magnets will give us more ways to show them the importance of these fundamentals.
The reusable wipe and write boards and dry erase markers will be going straight to their homes to provide them with the materials to use over and over again.
It is important that we provide the students with these materials so they can practice at home in conjunction with our online teaching.
