My students need 4 Self-Stick Easel Pads, erasable pens, markers, and post-it notes with dispensers.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Thomas's classroom raised $441
This project is fully funded
I teach 3rd grade in a high-need community where many students are not on grade level. My school has a strong focus on increasing reading and math test scores so that more students are on grade level.
Help! My students are not thinking about their reading! My students struggle greatly with higher-order thinking skills. In addition to their inability to read on grade level, many of them struggle with thinking about their reading. Comprehension is a low point for many students, including many of those that do read on grade level. Money is lacking, which prevents me from getting the supplies I need to create a classroom of thinking readers.
This project will give students the supplies they need (easel pads, markers, erasable pens, and Post-its) to write about their thinking, which will increase comprehension skills. Additionally, it will create a classroom culture in which students are active participants in the reading process.
Your help will ensure that my students will be able to write about what they are reading. Not only will this increase comprehension skills, but this will build writing/journaling skills. Your help will aid in reducing the achievement gap for inner-city, underprivileged students.
