Writing and Learning Over Summer Break! Handwriting Gifts! (Title I)

Help me give my students handwriting books as educational gifts to be given the last week of school. Each student will receive a cursive book, while some may need additional practice with their print writing.

My Project

Teaching in a high-poverty area at a Title I elementary school has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. I have learned and gained so much from my students and their families, and I try to be the most effective and caring teacher I can be each year for all of my students. Being a teacher, in general, has been one of the biggest joys in my life truly, and extremely humbling. Teaching through a pandemic has shown me that nothing will stop me from trying to still be the teacher my students need.

I am requesting a cursive workbook for each of my students to have as a fun and educational gift to enjoy starting during summer break.

Cursive is first taught in third grade in our state. Through this gift, my students will be allowed to start practicing early! Many of my students have wanted to learn cursive already, so I know that they will be excited. Some students are still working on their print writing, so they would also be getting a practice book for that as well to prepare better for third grade. It's very important for the kids to be able to write legibly, to show their thinking clearly in any subject area, whether it be math, science, reading, or social studies. These gifts will be well-loved and enjoyed by my students for quite some time. I love the educational value in them, but I know they will feel very grateful for the chance to start cursive writing! Thank you for your time and support. Each student will also receive a Pop Rocks Candy since they "rocked" this year
