About My Students

My team leaders David, Sage, Jaylene, and Michelle are leading the way in helping their class create and write their first online book about their own original Superhero.

My students had to come up with a united theme on what their first online book should be about. The team leaders got together and came up with several ideas to present to the class. The class unanimously voted on writing about Superheros. What made this more exciting, the team leaders had found a website that students could actually create and design their own Superhero. Once the theme was chosen, the groups led by their team leaders, put together a storyboard identifying their Superhero's name and powers, and they also worked on a plot.

Throughout this project the team will have to work together to complete the book guided by the team's leader. Therefore, teamwork will be vital for this project. Diverse career-oriented skills will also be learned from this project. Not only will the students be writing and editing, they will also learn how to create illustrations for their book through taking pictures with a camera, drawing their pictures by hand, and using special multimedia tools via multimedia software or 2.0 web tools.

In Their Own Words

Our team's project idea is to create and write a book about a Superhero that saves an animal habitation from the destruction of man. Our goal is to turn our book into an online book for the students in our grade to read. In our book we will have great illustrations that will go along with our story.

As a team leader I will make sure that my team works hard by staying on task and following the project rubric. As the leader it is also my responsibility to delegate roles and to make sure everyone's ideas are heard.

This project is important to me because this will be my first book to ever write. I want to say that I am an author and an illustrator. Also, I want to one day be a photographer. So this will be a great opportunity for me to practice taking pictures and editing them. Completing this project will show to our school that having a photography studio within the school will benefit us in learning and writing.
