My Students
Every classroom should have the basic supplies they need for their students to do their work. And that classroom should be a safe and clean environment to ensure the students stay as healthy as possible.
Our school is in the heart of East Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY.
The school includes students from Pre-k to eighth grade, and it is a melting pot of descendants from the West Indies. The school is in a high poverty area, and about 95% of the students in the school receive free lunch. There are 18 energetic, three and four year old children in my class but there are not a lot of funds to enrich these students' education because of the budget cuts.
My Project
Everyday before the students come into the classroom I do the some things to make sure the room is ready for my students. First I clean the tables. The wipes and paper towels will be used for this. We eat breakfast in the classroom everyday so clean tables are important. The gloves will be used by the teachers to serve the students their meals in a healthy manner.
After getting the room clean I get supplies ready for the students to use. We need a new pencil sharpener and pencils to use in the classroom throughout the day.
The last thing I do is print the homework and notes to parents on the classroom printer. We go through a lot of toner!
Having everything my pre-kindergarten students need to have a productive and safe is one of my top priorities.
The writing and cleaning materials I am requesting will help me create a great writing center and a very clean classroom.
