Help me give my students gear clocks, a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, markers, and other supplies that we will use for writing and art and as incentives for hard work.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help me provide these classroom materials that will reach every student in our 3rd-grade classroom.
It’s amazing how hands-on manipulatives can help reach students who are struggling to grasp a concept.
For example, time is a difficult concept for students and the gear clocks will help them learn by physically adjusting the clock hands to set the time. We are currently sharing clocks with another classroom and I would love for them each to have their own for independent learning time.
Staying organized is an important skill that we strive to teach our students. The spiral notebooks are used for daily writing and language arts activities. They help students stay organized by keeping all work together in one place.
Art is a favorite subject for many students so we teach them about a new artist each week. Students enjoy using various mediums to create their art and markers will provide another opportunity for them to explore using color.
The Teacher’s Pay Teacher’s gift card will help me to find tried and true, teacher created resources. We purchase activities that we feel will effectively target areas of need for students. These resources are created by classroom teachers who know what students need.
Finally, we have a bi-weekly drawing in class that rewards students for hard work and positive behavior. I asked students what their favorite incentive to work towards was and they agreed on these little erasers. It’s the little things that can bring so much joy.
