My project needs 32 student journals, storage for the journals, pencils, a pencil sharpener, and a writing center.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Peoples's classroom raised $396
This project is fully funded
I'm a third teacher in a low social-economic community in Chicago. We've been practicing our writing skills so that we will be successful when taking the ISAT test later in the spring.
Writing has proved to be a challenging curriculum for my third graders. I try to keep our writing activities as lively as possibly using funny, out the box, age appropriate topics.
Unfortunately, my classroom lacks the materials that would take us in the direction that I'd love to take my writers.
Therefore, since journal writing is such an incredibly flexible instructional tool that is useful across the entire curriculum, I would like to provide journals for my students.
It would be wonderful for my students to have appealing writing journals to spark their writing creativity. I would like for my students to write their daily independent writing assignments in a journal for organization and to take ownership in their projects. I would like for my students to be able to look back and review their previous projects and evaluate their progress as they learn more about the writing process.
I'm asking for you to consider a donation of journals, packs of pencils, a high functioning pencil sharpener, and a writing center to keep the students motivated as we reach for honors on the ISAT Test Date.
