This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Seeing is believing. My class sees and reads books about many different topics and they are ready to see and read books that they themselves have written! My students have the potential to be the next Beverly Cleary or Roald Dahl with their imagination and creativity. Please help make it happen.
Our school is a charter school located in South Los Angeles.
It is a Title 1 school where 90% of the students qualify for free or reduced lunch. We also have to provide free breakfast for our scholars to help them get ready and be excited to learn! They do not have everything in the world but they do have motivation, imagination, and creativity!
My Project
Our class is making their own books in various genres. We have previously written narratives but they are ready to keep going, with the proper materials. With these materials, you will help make writers out of these creative and smart scholars and help them continue on their journey to become the next Roald Dahl or Beverly Cleary. The materials will help them make How-To Books, All-About Books, and their Autobiographies. Let's support them in their writing endeavor!
This endeavor to follow writer's workshop and make more imaginative, creative, and scholarly writers out of my students will boost their confidence, help them believe, and produce wonderfully published books as second graders, something they are completely capable of.
