This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am extremely blessed to be the teacher of 40 creative authors. Several must hurdle the challenges of attention deficit, self-confidence, English acquisition, dysgraphia, specific learning disabilities, anxiety, and Autism. They are an amazing group who strive to improve their writing skills.
Encouraging students to express themselves through writing takes inspiration.
A relaxing Writer's Workshop space filled with bright paper, writing utensils, clip boards, binding combs, and an array of publishing materials would be the very inspiration my students need!
My Project
Writing is at the heart of everything we do in our classroom. My students and I are committed to engaging in lessons that hone in on skills such as introductions, vocabulary, details, suspense, voice, etc. But the part of the writing process my students love the most is sharing of their ideas and work, whether it be during the peer conferencing stage or publishing of their writing pieces.
Our updated Writer's Workshop space will inspire writing, collaboration, and expression of their talents, ideas, and individuality.
I have set up an area that includes a couch, small table, and pillows to serve as a place where students can go to generate ideas, collaborate, and simply create. Your donations will enhance with space with clipboards for flexibility, comfortable rugs for seating options, paper, and binding combs to put their final writing pieces together.
