Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My ECSE (Early Childhood Special Education) classroom is made up of 15 of the most amazing 3 to 6-year-olds. They are loving, strong, compassionate, and they persevere through their challenging circumstances. All of my students are special needs, and my classroom is about building self-help skills, communication skills, social relationships with peers and adults, adaptive skills, and foundational academics. They are enthusiastic about learning and grateful to have opportunities and experiences like all other children their age, especially during a pandemic.

My Project

The Apple products I have selected will support my students so that they may have more opportunities to participate at the same rate as their general education peers. All of my students are at-risk special needs students.

Due to the current pandemic and their already challenging circumstances, many of my students run the risk of falling behind their same-age peers.

The Apple Pencil and Apple Magic Keyboard will work along with our classroom iPad. All of my students are working on developing their fine motor skills and need extra practice holding a writing utensil. Now that they have learned how to manipulate their iPad using their fingers, the Apple pencil will support their development in transitioning to writing without their fingers. The Apple Magic Keyboard will support those students who are able to recognize letters, and help them begin typing short words and phrases.
