My Students
Educational Games such as Jeopardy have had a big impact on my students in the past. The only problem is the game format can sometimes lead to a rowdy and chaotic classroom. One way to prevent this is to use small white boards for the students to record their answers.
I teach 150 very active and energetic junior high students.
Variety is the key to keeping them on task and engaged in the lesson. In order to have that variety, different classroom resources and materials are necessary. Our school is considered high poverty. It is a Title 1 School and most students are on free and reduced lunch. We stretch our funds as far as we can, but sometimes worthy projects have to be cut because of lack of funding.
My Project
Using the white boards during educational games is only one way that they will be utilized in my classroom. The possibilities are limitless. We can use them during review, hanger questions, video projects, and a multitude of other activities. My students love to write on the board and this will allow them to be engaged in improving their understanding our our history lessons while they do so.
My goal as a teacher is to have engaged students.
One way to achieve this goal is by letting them actively participate in class. These white boards will allow my students to do so without causing some of the disruptions that educational games and activities occasionally cause.
