My Students

I teach a group of energetic Kindergarteners! They love learning through play and hands-on experiences. They are always on the go and looking for new things to build, touch, create, and explore.

My students come from busy homes with working parents and they don't have a lot of time to play and try different things at home.

Several of my students have never had the opportunity to be in a preschool program.

My school is an amazing school. We have such a great sense of community that the children are excited about school each and every day. About 50% of our students receive free lunch and many are just too proud to apply.

My Project

I am asking for some LCD writing tablets to make writing exciting as we move into the middle half of our Kindergarten year. My county is moving toward the Science of Reading, and with that movement, I want to purchase some printable decodables to use in the classroom and for at home readers. This transition comes with no materials! I try to create what I can for my students at night, but time becomes an issue. With this grant I could purchase pre-made materials and little tablets for my students to use during our whole group and small group time. I also tutor, and plan to use these materials to help students after school as well.
