This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At my school, we have exceptionally talented and dedicated students who are willing to go the extra mile to have dynamic and challenging music education. Our students may face very difficult situations at home and around them, but their willingness to persevere and their tenacity has set them apart. This is a group of exceptional music students.

Our music students have gone on to do great things in the community and in higher-level music education.

We are honored to know that many of our scholars have received scholarships and high placement due to their work in music. We are very proud of their work and are excited to see what great things they will do this year. Music has done monumental things for our most at-risk youth. Let's help them continue their great work!

My Project

With the return to the classroom, it is our hope that we continue to grow the many new things that we developed during remote learning. One of those elements was songwriting. Through online programs like Bandlab, students experimented and worked on their own music that they shared with the school and other students. To aid students in this endeavor, we would like to get them midi keyboards that will help them write music and play the piano directly into their computers. This will aid in the songwriting process and helps us offer a more dynamic music program.

With these midi controllers, students will be able to write and perform their own music with their computers.

It is essential that we continue to develop our students' songwriting skills in and out of the classroom. This project will help us do so.
