This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, writing is more than just putting words on paper—it's a journey of discovery, expression, and skill-building. To support this, I am launching a dynamic Writers Workshop where each student will develop their voice through literary analysis, critical thinking, and evidence-based writing. Students will use the online platform NoRedInk to build foundational skills like crafting claims, organizing counterclaims, and citing textual evidence. But digital tools alone aren’t enough—we need physical supplies to bring this workshop to life. I’m seeking folders to house each student’s original writing samples, instructional handouts, and MLA-formatting workbook to keep their learning organized and accessible.

Additionally, we need highlighters, pens, pencils, and sticky notes so my students can actively annotate texts, give peer feedback, and revise their drafts during independent writing sessions.

The expo markers and wipes will be used with the individual mini whiteboard I have for them to aid in brainstorming and drafting. These tangible tools will empower students to move from direct instruction to meaningful application. With your help, our classroom will transform into a space where students write with clarity, confidence, and purpose. Students hate writing, but with your help, I can give them the support and encouragement they deserve.
