My Project
I teach at a small middle school in a small school district. The district I teach in only has one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school. The majority of the students live in poverty and are homeless. What I mean by homeless is that the parent(s) and the children are living with other relatives, because they do not have a home of their own. The middle school I teach at is a Title I school, which means that we receive funds from the government to get some of the resources that we need. In addition, the students all receive free lunch and breakfast every day.
Small group instruction is crucial to helping students in the ELA classes master the standards being taught in both ELA and Social Studies.
These tools in this project will be so helpful in our station rotation when we are reteaching the students in ELA. The small group reteach station is in need of a dry erase board along with erasers and magnetics to help the students master the standards taught the previous week in each of our ELA classes. These tools will help the ELA be better teachers and help the students be successful in the reteach small groups.
